Welcome to the web site for Iowa Dermatology Incorporated.  Sorry about the mess, but our site is under construction.  The site should be operational enough to provide some useful information about our practice. 

Our Mission

Iowa Dermatology, Inc. physicians and staff are committed to providing high quality dermatologic services in a safe and compassionate manner that enhances our patients’ lives and well-being.

What is a Dermatologist ?

A dermatologist is a physician who specializes in the study of the skin, diseases of the skin and the relationship of cutaneous lesions to systemic disease.

As a Board Certified Dermatologist, Dr, Jennifer Palmer is trained to evaluate and manage pediatric and adult patients with benign and malignant disorders of the skin, hair, nails and adjacent mucous membranes. Dr. Palmer has had additional training and experience in the following:

bulletThe diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers, melanomas, moles, and other tumors of the skin.
bulletThe management of contact dermatitis and other inflammatory skin disorders.
bulletThe recognition of the skin manifestations of systemic and infectious diseases.
bulletSurgical techniques used in dermatology.

Board Certified Dermatologists can also manage cosmetic disorders of the skin, including hair loss, scars, and the skin changes associated with aging.

bulletAcne affects every teenager to one degree or another.
bulletHand dermatitis, resulting from external contact with detergents and household chemicals, affects most women with young families.

bulletOne in five persons suffers from cold sores (herpes simplex).

What does Board Certified mean?

The certification process is designed to assure the public that a certified medical specialist has successfully completed an approved educational program and an evaluation, including an examination process designed to assess the knowledge, experience and skills requisite to the provision of high quality patient care in that specialty.
